2.5mm English hemp string on a 145lb English yew replica of Mary Rose bow MR79A0807.
The hemp was processed, retted, combed and glued myself, using a mixture of hide glue and glycerine, and the string is constructed of two whole hemp plants twisted together.
The top end is a reverse-twisted loop, the bottom end a reverse-twisted bowyers knot and the middle section just has the plant fibres laying together.
The glue on this run is still too hard, so I need to add more glycerine, but the string is solid as a rock and I can't see it going pop for a while.
