Westminster Abbey and Mary Rose arrows

The Westy is goose fletched with dark silk binding encased in a wax, kidney fat and oxide glue.

The nock is 7.6mm in diameter and the shaft is barrelled.

The MR is swan fletched with red silk and a wax, fat and trace amounts of verdigris glue. The nock is 8.2mm in diameter and the shaft is a true "bobtail" - not a straight taper, but almost trumpet shaped with a wide shoulder, heavy taper over a few inches then a more steady taper to the nock.
