Westminster Abbey Arrows

Writer's picture: WillWill

Set of six replicas of the Westminster Abbey arrow, as part of a larger set going off to America soon.

These don't yet have heads, but will be fitted with my replica of the original Westminster head, a short-barbed, very compact little Type 16.

The arrows are Populus tremula (aspen) and are subtly barrelled like the original. They taper down to a very small nock, fitted with tapered horn and fletched with swan. The feathers are bound with dark silk into a fletching glue made of wax, tallow and oxides to provide the deep red colour.
